11 “other” things you can use Husky Floor Liners for

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Husky Liners may be one of the most practical products you can buy for your truck, car or suv. But its also one of the most practical things you can use around the home, farm, ranch, or whatever.

You may be thinking, "this is dumb, why would I buy $70 floor mats and use them for what you listed?" Simple. If your car ever got wrecked, but the floor liners survived (which, Husky Liners probably would), you would need to do something with them, because chances are your not going to get another 2006 Ford GT. And, since the liners from your wrecked GT probably wont fit in your Festiva, here are some other things you can use Husky Liners for:

  1. Watering Bowl ( for the dogs, cats, livestock )
  2. Body Armor ( with a little cutting, could be easily converted into chest protection for the dirt-bike-ist )
  3. Pond Liner ( pond liner is expensive, if your setting up a small pond in the front yard, recycle and use a Husky Liner )
  4. Umbrella ( all you have to do is flip one upside down and duct tape a stick to the center of it )
  5. Snow Sled/Saucer ( sand the bottom grip stuff off, throw on a little wax, and away you go! )
  6. Frisby ( preferably for use with Husky Liners from small cars...just turn them upside down and throw em )
  7. Shield ( wether you are reinacting the movie 300, or participating in a neghborhood snowball fight, floor liners make a great shield. Just duct tape one of your arms to the inside of a Husky Liner and your set, "For Glory!" )
  8. Oil Pan ( hey, its the right shape...although, I would not use liners for this purpose on big cars, you might be able to get away with it for very small cars or ATV's )
  9. Bird Bath ( because birds still need to take baths, and who wants one of those ugly concrete ones sitting in their front yards? )
  10. Fan ( for the heat of the summer. They are light, and shaped perfectly. Now, you just have to find someone willing enough to sit by you fanning you for 7 hours a day )
  11. Bed Pan ( again, the shape would be perfect )

There you have it folks. If any of you have good ideas or better ideas for the best practical uses of Husky Liners, please let us know.

Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mats vs. Husky Floor Liners: Which is Right for You?

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

No matter what kind of motorist you are, keeping the interior of your automobile is a good idea: it will keep your car or truck feeling new for a longer time, will add lots of money to your resale value, and frankly it will just make your ride look nicer; something you can be proud to drive. Because of foot traffic, most of your interior’s maintenance will be focused on your floors, and trying to keep those carpets as clean as possible. For this purpose automobile owners have two options to choose from: floor mats, and floor liners. Both products strive to do the same thing: protect your floors. But floor mats and floor liners protect in different ways, and before you buy one or another you need to put some careful consideration into their differences. Husky Liners is the top brand in interior protection, and offer both products: Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mats, and Husky Floor Liners. Both lines are considered the best by most gearheads, so choosing between the two may be difficult: let’s look at the differences.

While Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mats can be bought for most automobiles, Husky Floor Liners are only sold for trucks and SUVs, so if you’re looking for something to protect your car or van, you should check out the mats. For truck and SUV owners, which you choose will depend on what you’re doing. Here are the basics:

The biggest difference between Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mats and Husky Floor Liners is the type of protection they provide: Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mats are designed to cover the area beneath your feet, whereas Husky Floor Liners are designed to cover the entire floor surface of your truck or SUV. Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mats are semi-custom mats, tailored to the make and model of your auto. These are approximations however, and while most mats will fit your floor perfectly the first time, some mats will require trimming for an exact fit. Husky Floor Liners however, are custom molded, so once you find the right one it will fit the inside of your truck or SUV like a glove with no alterations needed. Additionally, Husky Liners can also be bought for cargo areas, which stresses the difference between the two products: Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mats are for foot traffic, whereas Husky Liners cover both foot traffic and spills. If you’re carrying around messy cargo, a Husky Floor Liner is the only way to go.

These differences in protection have also determined the designs of the two products: the Heavy Duty Floor Mats have 3/8 inch ridges across the surface to catch mud, snow, and other substances from your shoes and boots, and do a good job of keeping them on the mat. They also have a ½ inch outer rim for the same purpose. Husky Floor Liners sport a diamond shape pattern designed to keep cargo in place, as opposed to trapping liquids. Instead, Husky Floor Liners have a 2 ½ inch outer rim, to keep even the biggest spills under control. Husky Floor Liners can cover the first, second, and third rows of your SUV or Suburban in addition to the cargo area, making sure every inch of your floor is protected, something no floor mat can do.

The differences also affect how you clean them: the ridges of the Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mat would make wiping them off difficult – instead you can simply pull them out and hose them down outside. The Husky Floor Liner however, stays in: the lack of any ridges makes it easy enough to sponge off, but it will require you to crawl around the inside of your SUV to clean everywhere. This makes Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mats easier to clean, but again the trade off is the amount of coverage offered.

Both the Husky Heavy Duty Floor Mats and Husky Floor Liners are made of the same durable material, and carry a lifetime guarantee to not crack or break. They also come in the same colors: black, grey, and tan. The main difference is the type of protection: if your worries are limited to what you drag in on your feet, then the Heavy Duty Floor Mats should suffice, and the added ease of cleaning them makes the mats a smart choice. If you plan on carrying leaky cargo, or just want the added assurance for accidental spills from kids or messy passengers, then the Husky Floor Liner is for you. Whichever choice is right for you, protecting your floor’s carpet – and along with it the value of your automobile – should be a top priority.

Winter is coming, Get your Husky Liners

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Winter is coming. We all hate to hear it, especially if you work outside during the winter. I know it makes me cringe. I love summer. I love not feeling wet and cold all of the time. If I could afford to move to a warm climate during the winter I would. At least for the majority of the winter.

With winter right around the corner one of the thoughts on my mind is, "I gotta get my vehicles ready". For me this involves finding a top for my jeep. I have a feeling that the bikini top on my 99 Jeep Wrangler will have a hard time holding any kind of warmth, and keeping any kind of snow and rain out.

Another important item is floor protection. Even if you work in the city around where I live, people are still tracking snow and dirty sand into their cars, trucks and suv's. With Husky Liners Floor Liner, you dont have to worry about ruining the floor in your rig. Husky Floor Liners literally trap and hold anything your shoes track in.

Step into a puddle? No Problem. Husky Liners will hold in that water, keeping it from spilling over your carpet. Fall into knee deep mud? No Problem. Husky Floor Liners will keep your floor safe and protected. Go mud wrestling? Sorry, I'm afraid you are going to need a seat cover. But anything that falls in front of you, your Husky Liners are sure to catch.

Now, Husky Liners (the company), has many great products. One of these products are Husky Heavy Duty Mats. The Heavy Duty Mats are great, and look really stylish. However, they are probably not optimal for winter. Make sure that you get actual "Husky Liners". I think that some people get confused about this. Just so you know, there is a difference, and we will talk a little more about the difference in future articles.

Now, winter is coming. So go get your Husky Floor Liners before its too late!
