You may be thinking, "this is dumb, why would I buy $70 floor mats and use them for what you listed?" Simple. If your car ever got wrecked, but the floor liners survived (which, Husky Liners probably would), you would need to do something with them, because chances are your not going to get another 2006 Ford GT.
